Refuel Australia is a respected distributor of quality Ampol fuels and lubricants throughout the Pilbara, Midwest, Gascoyne and Murchison areas of Western Australia and the Northern Territory from Darwin to Alice Springs, and owner of roadhouses in WA.

At Refuel Australia our people are the greatest contributors to our success.  We are currently offering a position at our Swagman Roadhouse,WA.

Our site offers our customers quality dine-in and takeaway options from our busy kitchen, truck stop facilities and a shop, along with full service station operations. The roadhouse caters for truck drivers, tourists, business travellers and locals.

Job Requirements:

With a hands-on approach the Assistant Manager assists our Site Manager, ensuring the smooth daily running of the entire site including:

  • Set the standard for safety and customer service and ensure safe practices and procedures are followed at all times in all work areas.
  • Assist in the recruitment, training, rostering and mentoring of the team.
  • Collaborate with the Site Manager and Refuel Australia Retail Operations Manager to ensure ongoing business improvement and growth.
  • Work towards targets that include fuel volume, food and shop sales.
  • Supervise and work with staff in the kitchen, store, console operating, forecourt and other areas of the site.
  • Ensure the security, cleanliness and presentation of the site is of the highest standard.
  • Assist with administrative tasks.
  • Order stock, deal with suppliers, undertake stocktakes and stock management.
  • Provide customer service in any area of the site as required, including kitchen, store and console operations or forecourt.
  • Be responsible for either opening or closing procedures on a daily basis and end of day reconciliation.
  • Maintain excellent relationships with customers and suppliers by phone, in correspondence and by providing face to face customer service at the site.
  • Monitor and ensure maintenance is carried out when required on plant and equipment.

Qualifications and experience:

  • Leadership experience in a similar working environment in the fuel industry, retail or hospitality industries.
  • HACCP or other safe food handling training/certification.
  • High level customer service skills.
  • Effective organisational and time management skills.
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise work.
  • Good problem solving skills.
  • Current first aid certificate.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Barista, short order cooking, hospitality or housekeeping experience advantageous.
