An opportunity exists for a talented and enthusiastic Clinical Nurse Manager – After Hours, to join the team at Kununurra Hospital.

To be successful, you will have...

  • Eligible for registration in the category of Registered Nurse by the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in the delivery of evidenced based nursing.
  • care incorporating quality and risk management.
  • Demonstrated well developed clinical leadership skills including leading change.
  • Demonstrated well developed skills to manage people, material and environmental resources to achieve safe high quality consumer centred care.
  • Demonstrated excellent communication and interpersonal skills including negotiation and conflict.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy with the ability to work with health information systems and the Windows Office suite of application in everyday work practices.

Position Profile:

The Clinical Nurse Manager- After Hours is responsible for:

  • Leading the health care team to provide safe and high quality evidenced based clinical care for patients and their families within the service area and within available resources;
  • Ensuring standards of nursing practice and implementing changes to clinical practice within service area;
  • Plans, organizes , directs and coordinates all work arrangements that fall under the jurisdiction of the Clinical Nurse manager After Hours.

The Country Nursing & Midwifery incentive program is available to new and existing nurses and midwives - across a broad range of patient-facing roles - on fixed term or permanent contracts at 76 select locations. Eligible nurses and midwives can receive between $5,000 and $17,000 in support over 12 months (WA Country Health Service - Country Nursing and Midwifery Incentive Program).

Area Profile

WACHS Kimberley is the most northern health region of WACHS. The Kimberley region has approximately 200 Aboriginal communities, over 34 different Aboriginal language groups and 45 percent of the population are Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. WACHS Kimberley consists of six hospitals, an inpatient mental health unit, three Community Directorates and a Corporate Office. WACHS Kimberley provides hospital, community health, public health, remote area health, community aged care, and mental health services across the region through a dedicated team of medical, nursing, Aboriginal health, allied health, and support staff.
