Wunan Health K-WIC- Kununurra Withdrawal Intervention Centre are seeking:

  • Aboriginal Health Practitioners,
  • Aboriginal Health Support Workers
  • Community Service workers,
  • Nurse,
  • Night Supervisors and
  • Administration Assistant

Job Requirements:

The Wunan Foundation is set to deliver a first-of-its-kind Aboriginal community-controlled low medical withdrawal service in Kununurra. This service will provide a safe and culturally appropriate treatment options to support people with alcohol and other drug problems in the area. It is a significant development for the local community, addressing a gap in services as identified by the Mental Health Commission of WA.


About the role:

We are seeking to fill multiple positions, full time, part time, or casual to work with Wunan Health General Practitioners, in a multidisciplinary team, to provide care and support to people seeking treatment for alcohol and other drug withdrawal.


All roles will work as part of a team that will provide assessments, care planning, and after care support. Duties will include providing harm minimization information/interventions, yarning about connection to culture and contributing towards creating a safe and supportive environment at our new Centre.


To be a successful candidate for the role you will need:

  • Relevant qualifications in Nursing or Aboriginal Health & Community Services
  • Relevant experience or working towards qualifications and further training
  • Willingness to be flexible with working hours
  • Able to work as part of a multidisciplinary team

Pre-employment requirements:

  • Satisfactory Criminal History Check (not older than 6 months)
  • Satisfactory Working with Children Check
  • Qualified Allied Health Professional with full registration with AHPRA or AASW - where applicable!
  • Meeting citizenship/residency or visa requirements
  • Current Australian unrestricted ‘C’ class Driver’s license. - where applicable!
