We are seeking a Casual/Fixed Term HSE Advisor (immediate start on an hourly rate @ 11.5 hours per day– with work guaranteed until the end of August 2024 and the possibility of an extension until December 2024).

Your role will be largely field based supporting the Site Managers, Supervisors and HSEQ Manager to maintain HSEQ procedures and processes on site, while providing training to site project staff to ensure continuing compliance with project HSEQ requirements.

About you

  • You are looking for a Casual/fixed term FIFO role, working on 2:1 roster (travelling both ways in the companies’ time).
  • You will ideally have 4-5 years’ experience working in a multi disciplinary project.
  • You will have worked FIFO or DIDO in the Mining/Commercial Construction/Civils industries.
  • You are a team player and are happy to share your knowledge with others.

 Position Summary

The HSEQ Advisor supports the Site Project Manager and HSEQ Manager to implement and maintain HSEQ procedures and processes on site, while providing training to site project staff to ensure continuing compliance with project HSEQ requirements.

This role is also responsible for maintaining legislative, statutory, Kerman and Client requirements for all HSEQ issues on the project site, in addition to coordinating site inductions and training, including VOC assessments as required.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Work in conjunction with the Site Project Team and HSEQ Manager-HO to ensure the site HSE requirements are established, implemented and maintained in accordance with Kerman HSE Project Plan, Client and WHS Statutory requirements.
  • Be actively involved with the implementation and maintenance of project HSEQ Management Plans, CRAW Risk Assessments, HSEQ Procedures and Forms through consultation with all site personnel and client.
  • Conduct HSE inspections and be actively involved with HSEQ audits. Conduct inspections with Client HSEQ representatives as required.
  • Conduct pre-start and toolbox meeting training and awareness material as required.
  • Have a very good understanding of Client HSEQ standards, in addition to HSEQ legislation including acts, regulations and other material.
  • Ensure all HSEQ documentation including plans and procedures are available to site personnel and that the site management team, employees and sub-contractors understand their HSEQ responsibilities.
  • Actively promote methods to identify, eliminate or control hazards in the workplace. Utilise the CAR Register to record hazards and corrective
  • Promote and enforce the One Team approach to our sub-contract and direct workforce.
  • In conjunction with senior site personnel, undertake and lead incident investigations into all reported incidents. All incidents regardless of severity shall be investigated and incidents resulting in serious injury may require further assistance from the HSEQ Investigations shall focus on root cause and corrective actions to prevent reoccurrence,
  • Ensure employees and sub-contractors are appropriately trained in the use of safe work procedures and Job Hazard Analysis (JHA).
  • Review Job Hazard Analysis (JHA) completed by work crews to ensure content is relevant and applicable, has the appropriate control measures and is understood and signed by the work
  • Consult with the workforce whilst inspecting the site regularly to ensure a high standard of compliance.
  • Perform other duties within the organisation that may be necessary to suit operational requirements.
  • Take responsibility for your own safety, uphold the Company OHS&E policies and participate in Company OHS&E initiatives.
