Job Requirements:

About the role:

We currently have an opening in our busy and productive property team for a Property Officer.  This role will manage the City's Seniors Housing tenancies, properties and physical infrastructure of the unit complexes, and provide administrative support to the Property Services team.  We are looking for property personnel who will assist with efficiently managing tenancy agreements, coordinate inspections and resolve tenant issues with sensitivity and professionalism.

You will have an opportunity to contribute directly to the wellbeing of our community in leasing for public benefit.  You will be working within a collaborative team environment where your contributions are valued and your growth encouraged.

The person:

The successful applicant will align with our values and have the following skills and experience:

  • General understanding of the principles of leasing of property and land.
  • Proven ability to engage and supervise contractors.
  • Proven ability to monitor rental income and arrears utilising sound numeracy skills.
  • Ability to negotiate mutually acceptable outcomes between the City and other stakeholders.
  • Highly effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Developed ability to effectively use Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Willing team member with the ability to act on initiative and work autonomously when required.

The successful applicant must be able to provide a National Police Clearance not more than six months old.
