Finmec is an expanding maintenance provider to the mining and transport industry and has been operating in Hedland for the last 14 years. We are a Port Hedland Locally owned business made up of qualified Heavy Duty Mechanics, Light Vehicle Mechanics, Auto Electrician, HV Electricians, Boilermakers and more.

Position:
Finmec is currently seeking an experienced Purchasing Officer to join our Port Hedland team.

Job Requirements:

Roster:
Local Weekday or FIFO 2/1 roster.

Job Role:

Carry out daily activities and operations to ensure smoother running of the parts store and contribute to driving the sustainable growth of Finmec by maintaining stock control and incoming and outgoing goods.

  •  Assist with the day-to-day efficient running of the store to supply parts to workshop and external sites/customers.
  • Ensure tooling is tested and tagged as per OHS requirements and report to Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Control oil consumption in workshop and ensuring reporting of reordering in a timely manner.
  • Control incoming parts and update Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Control the collection, packaging, dispatch, and delivery of parts as required by Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Receipting parts as delivered and collected.
  • Organise freight and transport in a most cost-effective manner.
  • Report to Purchasing Supervisor on returned parts.
  • Labelling and storing of parts and keeping track of parts handed out.
  • Organise and maintain inventory.
  • Maintain store location register.
  • Complete stocktaking and checks of internal stocked parts as required by Purchasing Supervisor.
  • Organise stocked parts and storage.
  • Assisting with forklift duties, including but not limited to loading and unloading parts.
  • Clean work areas.
  • Ensure a safe work environment is always maintained and maintain a strong safety culture in accordance with Finmec HSE policy.
  • Perform any other reasonable duties as required by Management.

To be considered for this position you will need:

  • Current manual C class license.
  • Current High Risk Work License - Forklift (LF).
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience or related sectors.
  • Manage time effectively, meet personal goals and work effectively with other members of the team.
  • Firm understanding of safety in the industry.
  • Proactive and highly motivated.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and in a team environment.
  • High level of computing skill in the Microsoft Office Suite of products.
  • High level of detail in reporting.
  • A high attention to detail and level of accuracy.
  • Ability to pass a mine site induction at any time or appropriate for work requirement i.e., drug and alcohol free and fit for work in all ways.
