This is an exciting opportunity to teach as part of our exceptional Technologies Learning Area in the beautiful South West region of Western Australia. Busselton Senior High School (SHS) is seeking a passionate and innovative Design & Technology Teacher, some experience in Digital Technology would be an advantage.

We are looking for an engaging and energetic teacher, who is a future thinker, someone who can build capacity to meet the needs of our twenty-first Century learners by preparing them for real-world futures in Trades, Industry and Enterprise. Utilising contemporary approaches, the successful applicant should embrace change, and work collaboratively with the stakeholders, including industry, to improve the learning outcomes for students. Demonstrating initiative will be an important aspect of this role.

The successful applicant will ideally engage and inspire students in a range of contexts within the Technologies Learning Area based on their knowledge and skills. They should have a strong understanding of the requirements across the Technologies Learning Area to ensure our students can reach their full potential, safely, in all aspects of the Technology process. Knowledge of, and experience in, Western Australian Curriculum planning, delivery and assessment and experience delivering senior school courses of study is highly regarded, as is a Certificate IV qualification.

This selection process will initially be used to fill the above vacancy. Employees will be required to:

  • obtain or hold a current Working with Children Check;
  • meet the Department of Education Teacher Qualifications and Registration requirements;
  • complete the Department’s induction program within three months of commencement;
  • complete the Department’s training in Accountable and Ethical Decision-Making within six months of appointment and every three years thereafter;
  • complete the Department’s Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander cultural awareness online course within 3 months of commencement; and
  • complete any training specific to this role required by Departmental policy.

The Department applies a four (4) day breach period to this selection process.
