Business & Events Manager
Business & Events Manager
Description:
About the role
Join Facey Group, a community-based, not-for-profit agricultural research organisation in Wickepin, and feel good about contributing to our farming community.
You’ll work with a friendly, small team to keep our organisation running smoothly and bring workshops, field days and member events to life. It’s a varied role with plenty of local connection, whether you’re arranging catering with Cozy Groves, picking up supplies from Ewans, promoting an event through the CRC or working with the Shire to book a venue.
As Business & Events Manager, you’ll work closely with the CEO, staff and external bookkeeper to coordinate business administration, support our committee and organise events that connect people and share practical agricultural knowledge.
This permanent role offers 30–38 hours per week, with working arrangements to be discussed with the successful applicant.
What you’ll do
- Organise events, from booking venues and speakers to managing registrations and budgets.
- Support committee meetings by preparing papers, taking minutes and maintaining records.
- Work with our external bookkeeper to review payroll, transactions and financial reports.
- Keep membership renewals, sponsorship agreements and project administration on track.
- Coordinate office systems, suppliers, calendars and organisational records.
Job Requirements:
About you
You’re organised, approachable and practical. You enjoy working with people, being part of a community and seeing your efforts come together in a successful event or a well-run office.
You’ll bring experience in business administration or office coordination, confidence using Microsoft Office, and the ability to manage competing priorities. You’re comfortable working independently and pitching in as part of a small team.
Experience coordinating events would be valuable. Familiarity with financial administration, committees or community organisations would also be welcome, along with an interest in agriculture and regional communities.
