About the Role

You will be responsible for the safe and efficient transport of hot mix asphalt and machinery, supporting our day-to-day asphalt and transport operations.

Your main duties will include:

• Towing a live-floor trailer to deliver hot mix asphalt.
• Completing deliveries to Kalgoorlie-Boulder and surrounding towns as required.
• Transporting asphalt equipment, including pavers, rollers and other machinery using a float.
• Conducting daily pre-start inspections and attending Pre-Start Information (PSI) meetings.
• Keeping the truck and trailers clean, tidy and well maintained.
• Assisting with general servicing and maintenance of trucks and trailers.
• Maintaining accurate records and promptly reporting any faults or maintenance issues.
• Following all road safety requirements and workplace health and safety procedures.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A current MC (Multi-Combination) driver's licence.
• At least two years of heavy vehicle driving experience.

• A strong commitment to road safety and safe work practices.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work well within a team.
• The physical fitness required to assist with general maintenance tasks.
• A reliable, responsible attitude and pride in maintaining equipment to a high standard.

Medical Fitness and Safety Requirements

• Must hold a current MC driver's licence and meet the applicable commercial heavy vehicle medical fitness standards.
• Must be medically fit to safely operate a prime mover and tow trailers.
• Must be physically capable of performing the inherent requirements of the role, including vehicle inspections, coupling and uncoupling trailers, securing loads and assisting with general equipment maintenance.
• Must be able to safely perform duties in a road transport and asphalt construction environment.
• Must comply with all workplace health and safety requirements and report any condition or medication that may affect fitness for duty, in accordance with applicable requirements.

Highly regarded:

• Experience transporting machinery using a float.
• Experience towing live-floor trailers or similar equipment.
• Previous experience in the asphalt, road construction or civil construction industry.
• Basic mechanical knowledge and experience with truck and trailer maintenance.
