Pilbara Resource Group is seeking an experienced Senior Mine Engineer to join our technical services team and play a key role in supporting safe, efficient, and high-performing mining operations.

Reporting to the Quarry Manager, the Senior Mine Engineer will provide technical leadership across mine planning, scheduling, and operational support while working closely with site teams to deliver production targets and drive continuous improvement.

This role offers the opportunity to work collaboratively with geology, survey, maintenance, and operations teams to optimise mining performance while maintaining strong safety and environmental standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain short and medium-term mine plans, including pit designs, drill and blast plans, and production schedules
• Provide technical support to operational teams to ensure mine plans are practical and achievable
• Monitor production performance against plan and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity
• Support safe mining practices through risk assessments, hazard identification, and compliance with site safety systems
• Work closely with geology, survey, and operations to ensure alignment between planning and production
• Provide guidance and mentoring to Mine Engineers and technical staff
• Prepare mine planning documentation, technical reports, and performance analysis

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring strong mine planning experience and the ability to work closely with operational teams to deliver results.

You will also have:

• Demonstrated experience in open pit mining operations
• Strong mine planning and production scheduling experience
• Experience with mine planning software
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and collaboration skills
• Experience mentoring or supporting engineers or technical staff

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Engineering (Mining or equivalent)
• Current Australian Driver’s Licence
• Current National Police Clearance
• Valid working rights in Australia
